Owning something as the fuuma shuriken when Rin only has one arm seems ludicrous. Sure he is down to one hand, but his years of training to hone his forms and swordplay is nothing to spit on. Against weak opponents such as the manticore from earlier, Rin feels like he can still hold his own in a fight as he can still throw weak to modest levels of ninjutsu and fuuinjutsu. Come to the thick of it, his genjutsu still works too, but that is pretty mild on its own. Just tricks in the mind, and yet could be something he can use later on. Right now, aside from his trusty chokuto of jade Rin needs something that has a bit more of a range.

Perhaps the tricky part was to prepare the steel wires with each individual blade and have it connected to his fingers. Using a mixture of his teeth and deftness with his one hand. Once Rin was able to get everything tied together, he unfolds the fuuma shuriken before rapidly spinning it from the ring in the middle. The strings swirled around his hand until Rin threw the shuriken out. He moves his right arm, the handless one, to press against the outstretched strings to cause the shuriken to suddenly yank back after it has already traveled up to 20 meters. As it curved around, Rin flexed his index finger to detach the blades from each other and with a swipe of his left hand Rin made the blades sing into the air around him.

Rin curls his ring finger to make the third blade to curve closer than the rest, and as long as he keeps his hand and fingers in motion the blades continue to move. In a sense, it was like a dance, but so was all martial arts whether it is with weapons or for peace matters. It also presented a false sense of security to which most people would believe that Rin is defenseless at close range. Yet that was a lie in more ways than one since all Rin has to do is close his hand into a fist to draw all of his blades to him. With just a motion of his hand, Rin can direct where these blades would go whether it is to curl around or to move with his fist.

Rin spun on his heel as a light cloud of sand stirred in his wake. He certainly wasn’t garbed in as much gear as he would like to, but this would have to do. Granted he can always unseal the weapons he stored in his right wrist. However once they’re unsealed he can’t really put them back. Hard to do that when not only lacking a second hand, but also there’s a rather annoying seal that is hindering any lethal ninjutsu.

However, a small test at first to flow the fuuton chakra through the wires via chakra flow. He can see the fuuton chakra cloaking the wires, and it got him to wonder if he can make the wires and the connected blades sharper, durable, and faster even with this pesky seal on. So Rin decided to put out more chakra into cloaking his wires up to the blades. However, he figured out the hard way that this seal that restricts his use in chakra also hinders this aspect too. Meaning that he can’t just get it to work, but the theory was plausible to say the least. If he can use the standard chakra flow, then surely a more potent version could work with this fighting style as well. Still theories were one thing, practice was another. As long as Rin wears the five elements seal, he can’t hope to test the theory.

So with his fingers curled into a fist pulling towards him. Rin recalls the individual blades before he catches them. With a deft handiwork Rin locks the blades together and folds them before he tucks them away. Then he proceeds to walk away from the training grounds as he needs to leave right away.
