Jazz Player

Mission Details:

A stifled yawn escapes from young Auro’s lips as he seems to be relaxed in his current job. Being hired to guard this recently opened bar is tedious and outright feels boring. The jazz music was enough to keep Auro entertained. The familiar clinks of glass tapping each other followed with a chorus of laughter can be heard from the depths. Auro remains at the entrance just outside of the bar with his arms crossed. His eyes watch each person that approaches the door and those who exit. There were even a couple of guards that were off-duty or Auro hopes they are. Yet they still carried some of their weapons to which Auro stopped them by placing a hand between them and the door as his expression doesn’t seem to change from its carefree state.

[color:e06d=cc0099]”Sorry gentlemen, but I am afraid you can’t go in with those swords at your hips. Either you two go home and drop them off, or I can hold it for you until you leave.” Auro says to them as he was treating them like they were friends. The guards frowned and one of the pair raised his chin. A man who thought rather high of himself.

”Do you have any idea who we are? We are the Chunin of our village, and we are allowed to bring in our weapons into whatever establishment. It is within our right!” The man exclaimed, and Auro smirks at the notion of the act to be haughty.

[color:e06d=cc0099]”You can be the Hokage herself for all i care. My job is to guard this bar, and one of those details says that no weapons are allowed inside the building. No exceptions. Come on gentlemen, there’s no harm to be done here. I can hold onto them until you’re ready to leave.”

The two guards grumbled in distaste, but they took out their weapons and hip pouches. Auro accepted them and then allowed them to pass as he said he would. Auro grabbed a quill and ink with a few name tags that has a cord. He writes down the name and occupation on each item and container. Then he puts the weapons away in a safe spot before returning to his post. Minutes went by faster than Auro realized as he took tabs of everyone and kept his eyes peeled for weapons. In truth he felt more like a bouncer at this rate when he’s just taking their weapons away. Of course, in the event that a fight breaks out then Auro is tasked to defuse the situation and detain anyone involved. As well as minimizing the collateral damage, thankfully Auro is a practitioner of Taijutsu. To the Gentle Fist no less, but still Auro doesn’t think a fight is going to break out.

Those same guards from earlier come out of the bar, or rather stumble out of the bar as if their legs were entangled by some invisible cord. They nearly stumbled onto Auro if he hadn’t stepped to the side in order to avoid them. A brow raised on Auro’s face as it hasn’t been more than an hour since these two went in. Yet they were clearly plastered drunk.

”You two look like you had a blast in there. I take it you’re here for your gear?” Auro asked as he is maintaining his composure. They reeked of booze too as both were flushed red in the face. One of them tried to respond, but it was full of mumbles that Auro can’t make out what is being said. The other simply didn’t speak and instead groaned.

”Are you two able to get home okay?” Auro asked as he is tempted to just detain them and drop them off at the police station for being intoxicated in public. There is an offense to that, and usually Auro only does so when the drunks are disturbing the peace via verbal insults or get into brawls. The two of them were definitely drunk, and seeing their difficulty in standing still. After trying to hear their story for the second time, Auro simply escorted them with their gear in hand to the police station. Thankfully they complied with the motion and they were detained in the station. Auro left their gear at the station as well and gave instruction as to which guard was who. Then Auro returned to his station at the bar.

The rest of the evening went surprisingly smooth considering that this was a jazz bar. Although perhaps it is thanks to this music that seems to be constantly playing that really sets the mood. In any case, Auro did his job until it was near closing time for the bar. In which case he was dismissed from his duty, and Auro returned home afterwards. Not much he can do right now anyways.

"Honestly I wouldn't mind coming here for a couple of rounds in the future. Seems like it has some nice company too." Auro commented to no one in particular. He didn't believe that gambling in that kind of bar would be advisable simply because Auro didn't want to ruin the atmosphere that it created. Perhaps, one of these days, he really will come back to it. Not as a guard, but as a customer and see how well he truly likes the jazz bar.
