The spell of unconsciousness wore away gradually. Bit by bit Ikomiki would return to the waking world. The light was utterly blinding. Morning rays would transverse into the room through the panes of a far off window, positioned in a way where the light shone in now over her face. It was pleasantly warm, but in this state not much different than staring into the face of God. She couldn’t comprehend it, although gradually everything would return to focus. Vision spinning, the subtle sounds of birds chirping in the far off distance trickled into her ears.
The most prominent sensations, the ones that returned to her first as her vision was returning, was the dual desires that were most common after waking up. The sour dryness that permeated through her mouth and lips, and the fullness of her bladder. Even as pleasant as returning to sleep would have been (that sleep paralysis already discarded from her mind), especially in this dazed state, she would need to get up and find a place to pee, and preferably something to drink.
The window across the room, half obscured by the shining light still in her half-lidded eyes, finally came into focus. It was then that Ikomiki began to realize that she had no idea where she was. The wrongness of the situation dawned on her, troubling her in a way that would have resulted in a perplexing confusion on her face had she not been so drowsy. Squinting, her eyebrows furrowed as much as she could manage while being half-asleep. She almost never slept indoors, for one. Sleeping under the trees was a habit of hers that she had long upheld even as she moved into human society.
Turning her head would be rather revealing of her situation. Blankets. A luxurious bed. Much bigger than she thought beds were supposed to be, and then… A strong, masculine jaw. Pale, almost creamy skin with signs of not getting enough sunlight. Black hair, messy bangs and that long tied off ponytail. The tranquility of the environment was reflected in how peacefully he was sleeping beside her, eyes closed. She had never looked at him this closely before. Not this close to his face, and not for this long. Remaining that way, stuck in a daze as she attempted to comprehend her situation, she would just stare at him with her own hazed eyes… Akihiro had surprisingly long eyelashes for a man. She had never noticed it before, or seen his eyes closed like this long enough to examine it all. It was attractive in a way she hadn’t appreciated before, drawing a contrast between the eye and eyelid and enhancing already intense eyes. It was easy to imagine them being open. Whether black or red, it was an image that was floating across her mind now…
Wait a second.
She had spent a long time staring at him, and while of course it was easy to tell from the beginning who she was looking at, that wasn’t what she was trying to figure out. It was, rather, the very important question of why she was sleeping beside him like this. The realization jogged her mind all at once, like a car engine that had been sputtering suddenly roaring to life. She was… This must be his bed. His room. His house. She had never been inside his bedroom before but who’s else could it be- Her mind was racing. How did she get here, why were they both sleeping together and then she just realized they were both naked-
The memories of the night before would flash in her mind. Bits and pieces at first, and then in reverse order. The last thing she remembered, falling asleep after he had… After he had done that. Thinking about it now felt especially perverse. Had that all really happened, or was it some sort of dream?
Even after realizing she had continued staring at his sleeping face. A bout of shyness brought her eyes away, and embarrassment on her face now was represented through a tight frown. Suddenly, it was very important that she got some space. Not just because she really, really desperately needed to pee, but also because staring so long at his face like that with all these memories made her feel weird. Rather than dealing with weird emotions it was important to just ignore them and pass them off to your future self to deal with, a very good strategy used often by anvil-headed teenagers and young adults across the world.
Gently (reluctantly) she would roll away. Sliding out of his embrace. A strong arm had been wrapped around her, his bicep protectively placed around her… Wait a second. Why was she suddenly thinking about how strong his arms were? That wasn’t even true, Akihiro wasn’t that strong at all. She was probably stronger than he was, even if his arms were much thicker and more muscular in appearance than hers- Okay. Ikomiki had enough, she needed to stop herself before her thoughts got out of control again. The bed was slithered out of, that embrace she had been held in wiggled away from and along with the covers with the maximum amount of stealth that a shinobi could produce. After all, interrupting his sleep here would be counterproductive for her.
Or maybe not, because as she stood now in his room, bear and naked as the day she was born, Ikomiki realized a rather important dilemma. That being that she needed to pee, she didn’t know where her clothing was, and that she had no idea the layout of his home. In normal situations she would just find a secluded tree or patch of grass to relieve herself in like this, but this was an urban area in the middle of Konoha. Unless she was sneaking into a back alley to piss all over the trashcans there, it was unlikely she would find privacy. Even going outside was troublesome, as while she didn’t mind being seen naked apparently it was illegal or something lame like that. ‘Indecent exposure, an affront to the public order, you should really be ashamed of yourself-’ She recalled a rather annoying policeman lecturing her about walking around Konoha in the nude before. That was only one of the many times she had been yelled at for her previous nudity habit, before she wised up and stamped it out. Clothing was rather nice anyway, so it was easy to adjust, but still... It was too troublesome to deal with, humans and their stupid rules.
Then there was the option of just peeing inside his house, but that also felt very wrong for some reason. Even if she knew humans didn’t operate by the same rules she did, marking her territory inside Akihiro’s home felt… Well, rather rude, for one. This was clearly his territory, not hers. Rude, and a bit presumptuous. Way too bold. She would have to save that one for later. But if she didn’t release somewhere there would be a big problem. There was only one last resort she could fall back to… Using a toilet. She had only heard rumors of them, but apparently they were something that humans used to hide their natural bodily functions. Like they were ashamed of pissing and shitting or something. Pretty weird, but whatever. The problem was that she both didn’t know where the toilet was located in Akihiro’s house or what a toilet even looked like. Did he even own a toilet? There wasn’t any guarantee.
His room would be exited quickly. Unfortunately for her, Akihiro’s home was enormous. Huge, it was full of rooms and weird stuff. Curiosity struck her even in this urgement moment. Vaguely she saw the bloom of a sakura tree outside a window, and a big pond full of lively looking fish… Why did he go to a hot spring if he had a pool right out here to bathe in? She just didn’t understand. It was all so strange. Plus, the wooden floors would creak occasionally with each of her steps. Pretty stupid to have floors that made noise when the dirt ground was completely silent. Not a very ninja-like thing in her opinion, but that was something she adjusted to quickly. Almost nervous of making any noise inside his house, especially when he wasn’t around, she was on guard.
Being on guard didn’t stop her from indulging in her curiosity though. A rather big porcelain container, a vase, would be set aside on a wooden platform in some sort of display. It was huge, and the significance of it wasn’t something she properly understood, but it was especially shiny. Very shiny! And the surface looked so glossy and smooth… Maybe this was what she was looking for? It was full of what looked like flowers and water, which would make a bit of sense for something you relieved yourself into, so… Reaching out, she would brush her hand against the polished, reflective surface. It was cool, pleasant against the touch, but she had misjudged just how light such a large object was.
Crash.
Without meaning to, she had just shoved the vase to the side, having it wobble for a moment before falling off the platform it was perched on. Hitting the flood let out the loudest shattering sound possible, and a combination of porcelain shards, dirty water, and flowers spread across the floor in a pile. Ikomiki stared blankly down at the mess she had just made for a moment, before walking away without a word.
