    Jashinism ES Empty Jashinism ES

Post by Mort Fri Mar 05, 2021 3:25 pm

    Name: Jashinism
    Rank: S
    Power: S
    Activation Cost: 30
    Upkeep Cost: -
    Range: Self
    Speed: Instant
    Element: N/A
    Skill: Jujutsu
    Classification: Enhanced State Restricted
    Requirements: N/A
    Parent Technique: Unknown
    Hand Seals: N/A
Description: The fabled ritual of the followers of Jashin, said to grant immortality of both the mind and body to the recipient. While the exact mechanics of how the technique was created aren't known, several variations have been seen throughout the years, each with different methods on how to achieve immortality and producing the same effect.

This Restricted grants the user a permanent +2 Tier Unique Boost to their Stamina & Constitution, as well as a (++) Unique Boost to either their Coordination or Speed. The user also receives a level of indestructibility, and can no longer be killed via physical injury, including dismemberment, decapitation, blood-loss, internal trauma, explosions, etc. Immortality is passive, does not require upkeep, and prevents the user's CON stat from going below E. The user also gains the ability to regenerate themselves, reminiscent of the Senju. This regeneration has both a passive state and an active state. The passive state heals 1 Rank worth of non-mental damage equal to their Base Stamina stat per post while also allowing the user to reattach their limbs. The active state costs 30 CP and heals all physical injuries at once, including reconnected limbs and missing organs. Finally, Jashinism also allows the user access to Jujutsu skill, allowing them to register and use Customs techniques within the skill.

Jujutsu (Curse Techniques): Techniques that curses a target by various means. They work similar to juinjutsu, however, the user doesn't have to apply a seal on the enemy to curse them. The most common form of Jujutsu is taking something from their target, then the user sacrifices a part of themselves to curse their target in various ways. Blood is a common vehicle for Curse Techniques such as Death Controlling Possessed Blood, however records suggest there are additional avenues one could use to curse a target (Blood, Bone, Flesh, Chakra, Organs, Items, etc.), as well as more obscure curses that could be seen as protective or blessings under a certain light. This area of Jutsu is very poorly understood by the broader Shinobi world due to most practitioners being secretive cultists and outcasts. These techniques are subject to their individual rules and restrictions. Those without the Jujutsu Skill can be taught Jujutsu techniques up to C-rank, but the danger to users without a form of immortality or regeneration makes them less then ideal to use.

Costs 1,000 Exp to unlock Jashinism
Costs 500 XP to unlock the Jujutsu Skill

Weaknesses: Users who have gone through this ritual cannot die or be killed by conventional means. Unfortunately this means the most agonizing methods available can dispose of them, nor are they granted immunity to pain by this restricted.

Dismemberment or breaking the body into pieces can temporarily neutralize the user. Jashinism's Regeneration does not affect severed limbs (e.g cannot rapidly regrow a lost limb), & limbs reattached through the passive regeneration can be easily knocked off if not fully healed back on. The most effective way to kill the user is to fully dismember, decapitate, & then bury them; ensuring they cannot properly regenerate and slowly starve to death. The user can still be sealed, or contained within barrier-ninjutsu. The user can also die of malnutrition or being drained of all of their chakra (Chakra drain death is going below 0 CP). While the passive healing can regrow limbs, detached or lost limbs takes 1 irl week of rest outside of threads with access to plenty of nutrients to properly form.

Strong corrosive substances (e.g Chemistry, Boil and Lava) that can out-speed the regeneration can effectively neutralize their regeneration, but will not kill them. Other unorthodox methods include freezing/petrifying/crystallization/mummification followed by shattering the body. Dust Release's atomizing will completely disintegrate the body and overpower this technique.

Name: Curse Technique: Death Controlling Possessed Blood
    Rank: S
    Power: S
    Activation Cost: 30
    Upkeep Cost: 20
    Range: 0m-500m
    Speed: Instant
    Element: N/A
    Skill: Jujutsu
    Classification: ES Exclusive
    Requirements: Jashinism Restricted
    Parent Technique: Unknown
    Hand Seals: N/A
Description: This technique requires two special conditions. First, the user must draw an insignia of Jashin on the ground in their own blood, to which they must remain in the center for the technique to function properly. Second, the user must acquire and ingest the blood of their intended target. Once ingested, their skin then turns black with white markings thus bearing a striking resemblance to a skeleton, a symbol of absolute death. This serves as the link between the user and the victim. Once this ritual takes place, the victim is linked with the user until they either step or are forced out of the circle. Any kind of injury that the user inflicts upon themselves (or any future injury inflicted on them by the victim or a third party) is reciprocated on the target, be it a mere scratch or a pierce in the heart. If the user is forced to step out of the circle, the link is temporarily broken and the victim is set free, but only as long as the user has stepped out of the circle's reach.
Weaknesses: If the user is capable of feeling pain then they will feel whatever pain was inflicted on the victim. The circle drawn can only be a maximum of 1 meter in diameter. The linkage between the user and their target has a maximum of 500 meters. If the target goes outside of that range then the linkage is broken and the ritual must be redone.

This is an ES, but I believe with the aspect of immortality/unable to be killed alongside the active state of restoring yourself to peak condition, these unique boosters are simply too strong on top of all that.

Mort wrote: The passive state heals 1 Rank worth of non-mental damage equal to their Base Stamina stat per post while also allowing the user to reattach their limbs.

This is too strong, the immortality and active states are fine and are incredibly strong as they are, this could be too strong as if you were to have S-Rank Stamina, you'd be healing 1 S-Rank worths of damage every post without doing anything or with no cost whatsoever, which is a no-go.

This aspect is too strong, in a battle, blood is already a relatively easy resource to get for curse jutsu. I don't like the idea that almost anything belonging to the opponent can be used as a means against them. Notably, I'm not comfortable with bones, flesh, chakra, items or even "etc." in this context as it leaves it vague.

These weaknesses are okay, but to balance it out a little bit more, it should be stated that fresh blood is needed in order for the ritual to work. This is to ensure that you can't keep a vial of someone's blood from years ago and then assassinate them when they're in a village.

While the exact mechanics of how the technique was created aren't known, several variations have been seen throughout the years, each with different methods on how to achieve immortality and producing the same effect.

This Restricted grants the user a permanent +2 Tier Unique Boost to their Stamina, and after a 500 XP investment they can gain an additional +2 Tier Normal Boost boost to Constitution that requires activation & upkeep to use. The user also receives a level of indestructibility, and can no longer be killed via physical injury, including dismemberment, decapitation, blood-loss, internal trauma, explosions, etc. Immortality is passive, does not require upkeep, and prevents the user's CON stat from going below E. The user also gains the ability to regenerate themselves, reminiscent of the Senju & Hinode. This regeneration has both a passive state and an active state.

The passive state of healing heals 1 E Rank worth of non-mental damage as well as allowing the user to reattach their limbs, though they can boost this healing up to their Base Stamina rank by paying 1 CP per rank desired, being able to pay up to 5 CP if the user has base S stamina. (the user can pay less CP if desired) The active state costs 30 CP and heals all physical injuries at once, including reconnected limbs and missing organs as if there was no damage at all. Finally, Jashinism also allows the user access to Jujutsu skill for 500 XP, allowing them to register and use Customs techniques within the skill.

Jujutsu (Curse Techniques): Techniques that curses a target by various means. They work similar to juinjutsu, however, the user doesn't have to apply a seal on the enemy to curse them. The most common form of Jujutsu is taking something from their target's physical body (Blood, Bone, Teeth, Organs, etc.), then the user sacrifices a part of themselves to curse their target in various ways. Blood is the most common vehicle for Curse Techniques such as Death Controlling Possessed Blood and Body Controlling Manipulated Blood. However, records suggest there are additional avenues one could use to curse a target such as attuned items, chakra or specific bloodlines; as well as more obscure curses that could be seen as protective or blessings under a certain light in the same manner Juinjutsu's Curse Seals could be seen as a blessing or curse. (a canon example being the Tenseigan Energy Vessel's protective jujutsu.)

This area of Jutsu is very poorly understood by the broader Shinobi world due to most practitioners being secretive cultists and outcasts, and the few open practitioners usually being Jashinists themselves. These techniques are subject to their individual rules and restrictions, with stronger jujutsu often requiring a closer physical connection to the target and more restrictions and/or sacrifices in place to strengthen it further. Those without the Jujutsu Skill can be taught Jujutsu techniques up to C-rank, but the danger to users without a form of immortality or regeneration makes them less then ideal to use.

Costs 500 XP to unlock the Constitution buff ability
Costs 500 XP to unlock the Jujutsu Skill

Weaknesses: Users who have gone through this ritual cannot die or be killed by conventional means. Unfortunately this means the most agonizing methods available can dispose of them, nor are they granted immunity to pain by this restricted. In addition the Constitution buff, Passive healing, and active healing costs cannot be reduced by any means.

The user can still be sealed, or contained within barrier-ninjutsu. The user can also die of malnutrition or being drained of all of their chakra (Chakra drain death is going below 0 CP).

Reattached body parts using the passive healing need time to heal, with the connective tissue between the body parts being treated as having Base E Constitution until healed back up. Using the passive heal or a healing technique equal to the user's base Con will return a specific limb back to it's regular Con, and using the Active heal will immediately return all connective tissue back to the user's base Con as well. Strong corrosive substances (e.g Chemistry, Boil and Lava) that can out-speed the healing can effectively neutralize their regeneration, but will not kill them. Other unorthodox methods include freezing/petrifying/crystallization followed by shattering the body. Dust Release's atomizing will completely disintegrate the body and overpower this technique. Scorch's mummification effect is unique in that it will cause the user to take a (-) debuff to their physical stats (STR, CON, CORD, SPD, PERS) until they can un-mummify themselves, either with healing or with copious amounts of water.

While the restricted's healing can regrow limbs, whether they were detached, lost, stolen, etc.; it takes 1 irl week of rest outside of threads with access to plenty of nutrients to properly form & room to grow. This healing cannot be used to circumvent the implantation drawback rules. Limbs recovered this way have a -1 tier debuff on them while they are regenerating, while the body as a whole is treated as being exhausted (the -1 tier and exhaustion - do not stack on each other, they are parts of the same debuff). As the regeneration is done outside of threads, the debuff does not go into effect until the user declares they are regenerating a limb with this ability.

The user's immortality also prevents the user from dying on an implant roll of 1 (the organ is still lost), but they will need 2 weeks of rest to let their body recuperate from the operation. The user's immortality does not prevent them from dying from a failed curse seal roll unless they are a sage of any kind and requires 1 week of rest for perfect & imperfect sages, 2 weeks if the user is a non-use sage. Staying in a hospital can cut these rest timers in half (rounded up to the nearest day). While the user is recovering from implant or curse seal survival the user will be exhausted and take (--) instead of (-) during the process, with entering combat resetting the recovery timer.

If the user is a jinchuriki, the user does not die from the seal being broken through point degradation, five elements unsealing, or physical destruction, though they will still die if the chakra is extracted and the technique would normally kill the target, such as the Sealing Technique: Nine Phantom Dragons. When this happens, depending on the user's base Constitution one of several things will happen. At E, D, and C Con the user is unconscious for 2 irl weeks (likely needing outside help to survive unless the user's body can sustain itself) before becoming conscious but unable to fight & exhausted for 2 more irl weeks, then another 2 weeks exhausted but able to fight. At B Con the user will be unconscious for 10 posts before becoming conscious but unable to fight & exhausted for 2 irl weeks, then another 2 weeks exhausted but able to fight. At A con the user will be conscious, unable to fight & exhausted for 1 irl weeks, then another 3 weeks exhausted but able to fight. At S the user will be able to fight and exhausted for 1 irl month. The exhaustion debuff is increased to a -1 tier instead of a (-) during these timers, and timers can be individually cut in half if the user is conscious and in a hospital, and if the user enters combat the current timer will be reset (being unconscious will not reset the timer unless you are hit with an attack). If the user has Uzumaki Revivify or similar effect/technique, the user can choose their drawback source.
