Unique Abilities:
Appearance: Kara is all about drama and flair, favoring more theatrical pieces of clothing. She is frequently found in elaborate gowns and expensive accessories, due mainly to her somewhat pampered upbringing. While she can be found occasionally to ‘slum it’ in more practical attire, her ‘simple’ silk camisoles, short skirts and tall heeled leather boots are still a far cry from what might be referred to as lounge wear. Her clothing is often darker colored, which she feels adds a certain amount of edge to her otherwise delicate and classically pretty appearance. She has bright amber eyes that contrast nicely with her pale complexion and light blonde hair. She usually has a sly smile poised on her lips, which gives her a welcoming aura with just the slightest impression of cunning.
History: Kara was born to parents that were as wealthy as they were hard working; a rare thing among the affluent. Both of her parents were quite accomplished in the medical field, both specialized surgeons with a long history of success. They were also, either through the social pressure of perceived obligation or through genuine good heartedness, were considerably philanthropic. When Kara was just eight years old they began making multiple journeys across the known lands travelling with a caravan, setting up shop as both a clinic and a pharmacy. Kara didn’t mind the travel, not that she was really old enough to know any better, she enjoyed the new cities and people and had a rich childhood as a result.
Her father especially was quite protective of Kara, ensuring she had every luxury imaginable and more than enough protection around should anything go wrong. As Kara grew older she took a more avid interest in the work both her parents did, much to the delight of her parents. They spent all the time they could spare teaching and training their young daughter; until the fateful day they discovered where her true interests lay.
Kara was spoiled of course, and like many spoiled children she took for granted the elaborate and discomfort free life that had been granted her. As her family traveled from city to city and village to village, Kara had a way of finding the less scrupulous members of these places. Perhaps it was out of some sort of rebellious streak, perhaps not; either way she had found that her skills with chemistry were worth both a lot of money and a lot of social power. The money was nice of course, but she already had that in abundance. What she didn’t have was the power that came with being needed.
It didn’t take long of course for her parents to discover her dealings. Medical supplies going missing is no small thing to professionals. She did know how to make medicines and perform surgeries, but her true passion lay in altering body chemistry. Knowing which things to use to make someone more compliant, to aid a person who needs that little push to run faster, to make problems go away. None of these things would her parents allow themselves to create. They cared far too much, in Kara’s view, for their precious reputations as healers. Seeing as they had been solely responsible for her education, her parents did their best to cover up her indiscretions rather than draw any type of lawful attention to her operations.
Eventually though, they simply could not afford her continued recklessness and insisted that she distance herself from them. Hearing of a newly formed village, Sunagakure, she took her leave in the hopes of making a name for herself in the sandy streets of her new home.
Personality: Kara enjoys being enigmatic. She is, if you ask her, an accomplished chemist and noteworthy doctor. How truly successful she is at either of those things depends on whom you ask for a review. She does understand business and high society very well, and is skilled at maintaining a level head in both situations. She does have a mean streak which will rear its head in her need for revenge at slights, perceived or imagined. She has a temper though it is of the slow burning kind. Kara loves a good laugh, most especially when it is one wrought from sarcasm and wit. It is plainly evident that she was raised in an opulent manner and occasionally uses that as a way of further establishing her power over others she judges unfit.
