Catching various fish and other ocean fare wasn't exactly an oddity for the teen, considering his background. So taking the mission to catch Octopuses for the local Takoyaki dealer wasn't a tough choice. Ryūketsu spent most of his time by the shore either way, so the fact that he could earn money while doing something that he enjoyed seemed like an obvious choice. So, smiling behind his bandages he took the mission and was on his way.
It was early in the morning, though not that early for Ryūketsu. The teen usually woke around three or four in the morning regularly - as he had for most of his life coming from a family that worked in the fishing industry. So, by four thirty he was at the rock pools of the Hozuki fisheries, going about hunting down the fifteen required octopus. This was the only difference really, to how he'd usually hunt them.
A talented free diving spear fisherman for his own family's business, hunting in tide pools was an unusual method for Ryūketsu. Normally he'd swim out and dive for them around coral, or other such areas. However, the genin had been told that this was the best way to catch the specific species of octopus that Takashi wanted for his Takoyaki, so hunt the pools for the elusive creatures he would. After all, it was a decent way to expand his hunting abilities. So, standing at the edge of the rocks he took a deep breath, readied the bag he'd be putting the octopus in as he caught them, and began his search before the light of the sun began to breach the horizon.
Being so dark, with few lights around and with the rocks of course being slippery with how the tide had only just gone out for the morning, Ryūketsu did have a few near-miss moments of almost falling while he searched. This made him incredibly grateful for the slip resistance of his current boots, considering without them he likely would have cut himself up pretty badly on the craggy rocks.
A few hours later though, and some dips in the water in the deeper pools where he felt more comfortable hunting for them, Ryūketsu had nearly eighteen in his catch bag. Content with this amount, having it be over the requested amount - as he'd always been one to do more than requested of him. And, sure that the dealer would be opening shop soon as the sun had started to rise finally, he headed away from the fisheries and too the market to deliver the fresh catch to the man and complete his early morning mission before heading off on the others he'd picked up for the day.
