Clan History/Description:
"I heard they're descendants of devils. Can you believe that?"
"Well.. yeah. That's nothing out of the ordinary. There's so much more stuff that's more intimidating."
Clan/Bloodline Traits & Characteristics: The Diabolus Clan only has one defining trait of a faint mark (same as the clan symbol) just above their tailbone, able to be traced by an odd indentation in their flesh. Prior to their Awakening, however, the bloodline exhibits no odd traits beyond that.
After awakening, the Devil Appendage that they've manifested remains constantly active. While active, members find themselves overwhelmed by their negative emotions so long as it's uncovered.
Bloodline Description & Abilities:
Kishin no Fushoku - 0 EXP
Every Diabolus Clan member has the Kishin no Fushoku, appearing as distorted chakra. It often appears darker than normal chakra, and is often uncomfortably warm when others come in contact with it. The kekkei genkai itself facilitates the ability to use Inton ('Yin Release') to turn their negative emotions into a reality once conjoined with Youton ('Yang Release') to form a Devil Appendage. Devil Appendages often replace a limb or an organ, rather than something minute like a finger (or a set of fingers).
The boost the Devil Appendage grants the user also depends on the part of the body it's affecting. For all intents and purposes, the boost remains localized to the Appendage on its own.
- Organ (Heart, Lung, Mouth etc.): Stamina or Constitution
- Limb (Arm or Leg): Strength or Coordination (decided by user)
- Eye: Perception
- Brain: Intelligence
Like Ninjutsu, a Devil Appendage takes chakra and changes its form as a technique. A Devil Appendage can do this in the same vein, though typically by augmenting itself or expelling the very chakra it's composed of from itself.
Awakening (Stage One) - 250 EXP
Upon purchase, the Diabolus' most 'prized part of their body' is converted to a Devil Appendage by the Kishin no Fushoku (this can be picked OOCly by the player still, mostly just flavor). This replaces the original appendage, and remains constantly active, plaguing their thoughts with the negative emotions that formed it. This often results in emotional turmoil, which can only be avoided by covering the appendage at this stage. At this stage, it increases the affected stat by one plus (+) while present.
Demonic Ascent (Stage Two) - 250 EXP
The Diabolus Clan Member has learned to start suppressing the effects of the limb itself. They become less susceptible to the negative emotions that plague them while the Appendage is out. At this stage, the appendage increases the stat it affects by two pluses (++). Additionally, the Diabolus gains the ability to repair the arm if it's been damaged. This has a B-Rank Activation Cost and C-Rank Upkeep for every turn it's active, allotting the clan member up to 3 posts maximum to use it throughout a thread and healing at B-Rank in Power and Speed.
If destroyed, it requires S-Rank Activation Cost to manifest again, and can only be reformed once per thread. Lastly, the duration the Devil Appendage can be out before the Diabolus' Intelligence starts dropping is raised to 5 posts.
Satan's Bastard (Stage Three) - 500 EXP
At this stage, the Diabolus has mastered their Devil Appendage, expressed by the stat it affects being raised to a full tier increase. Furthermore, the regeneration of the Devil Appendage raises to A-Rank in Power and Speed, with the post limit raising to 6 posts per thread. Fully reforming it now requires A-Rank Activation Cost instead of S-Rank, and can be reformed twice per thread.
Finally, the debuff to the Diabolus' Intelligence stops at a full tier debuff.
Bloodline Limits & Drawbacks: Members of the Diabolus Clan, while gifted in their own right, suffer from the very thing that make them unique. The first notable risk of the Devil Appendage that they draw upon for power is that it whittles at their mental fortitude. After the first three posts of having the Devil Appendage present, every post following that drops their Intelligence by one minus (-). This lowers to a maximum of a two full tier debuff.
While the Devil Appendage is active, Aura-based boosters cannot be applied to the Appendage itself -- unless it's a booster designed to work in tandem with it or the Diabolus has a way to circumvent the Appendage's contact with the chakra facilitating the booster. If this is attempted anyways, it will automatically take in the chakra itself and cancel the booster. The last stipulation regarding the Diabolus addresses the destruction of their Devil Appendage. While more experienced Diabolus clan members are able to restore it with a steep cost, on the offhand that one is incapable of such, or one that is capable runs out of uses of this function per thread, destruction after the fact does not come without grave punishment.
In the event that a Diabolus had their Devil Appendage destroyed under those circumstances, they lose access to it entirely and go back down to 0 EXP invested into the clan. While they retain the use of the Kishin no Fushoku and sub-techniques derived from their Devil Appendage, they must reacquire it by re-investing EXP into their bloodline.
Clan Techniques
Name: Chakra Neutralization
Rank: B | S
Power: B | S
Activation Cost: 10 / 30
Upkeep Cost: 5 / 20
Range: 0-3m / 0-5m
Speed: B | S
Element: Non-Elemental
Skill: Ninjutsu
Classification: Clan Exclusive
Requirements: Stage Two of the Kishin no Fushoku / Stage Three
Parent Technique: N/A
Hand Seals: Dragon → Horse → Ox → Rat → Ox → Ram → Clap Hands | Dragon → Clap Hands
Description: After forming the sequence of the required handseals for the technique, the Diabolus maintains the last one as chakra is erected from their Devil Appendage. It spreads until the user halts it, or until it encompasses the technique's range, stopping once at that point. This emission of chakra acts as a spherical barrier, weakening any chakra form that comes in direct contact with it. If chakra in the form of a technique comes in contact with the barrier, be it the exterior or the interior, it reduces the Rank and thereby its corresponding statistics (Power & Speed) by one tier, two tiers for the S-Rank version of this technique.
Against boosters, their total stat allocation goes down one rank (so a B-Rank that boosts by 1 tier and 1 plus goes down to 1 tier against the B-Rank version of this). Against boosters that step past the normal threshold, this distributes the debuff value across the buffed stats, applying itself to up to three boosted stats (based on the user's choice) and reducing them each by one minus, two minuses for the S-Rank version of this. If a technique's or booster's statistics / corresponding boosts reach E-Rank or below, it's neutralized entirely.
Weaknesses: This technique will end if the user's hands move from in front of them unless, they have a UA that enables them to use this without the handseals. Those that have One-Handed Seals maintain half of the seal by keeping their flattened palm in front of them. Furthermore, this does not discriminate ally from enemy; any technique that comes in contact with the barrier, even if it's from the user's ally, will be debuffed accordingly.

Clan History/Description:
"Well.. yeah. That's nothing out of the ordinary. There's so much more stuff that's more intimidating."
- How it all began..:
- The Diabolus are a clan mostly shrouded in mystery. Unlike the Uchiha, the Senju or even perhaps the Hozuki who made a name for themselves, this clan is among many others who have seldom made a name for themselves. Starting out as nothing more than a tradesman who traveled with his family, the progenitor of the clan eventually would find his father and two of his siblings slain by a roving bandit group one night.
Seeking vengeance but lacking the power to enact it, he purchased a talisman that was, based on what the merchant told him, "designed to bring out your potential." With it he attempted a ritual in the coming days, not telling his remaining family members.
To him, what happened was a higher power punishing his weakness or him messing up the ritual. Unbeknownst to him, it was the first time he'd manifested his bloodline, born from a mutation in his genetics. It'd go on to become known as the Kishin no Fushoku. Its manifestation resulted in the process that's gone on to become a norm for clan members.
In the blink of an eye, he felt utterly consumed and powerless against the negative sentiments, but more importantly an intense, sickeningly extreme burning sensation in his mouth. He keeled over, most likely even passing out in the process, and when he awoke it was to his concerned brother jostling him in fear that he'd died, much like the rest of their family members only days prior. The relief of the progenitor being alive quickly evolved into panic when he turned over, causing his sibling to recoil in shock.
In the midst of what the progenitor just thought was hysteria on his brother's end, he said his mouth was disfigured. Not believing him, the progenitor went on to return to the camp that their family had made for the night, attempting to just avert his mind. His lower face was sore but, certainly the looks the rest of his family was giving him were just all of them in on a joke, right? Eventually, curiosity (and the fearful looks from his kin) coerced the progenitor into seeing for himself in a mirror.
He was as horrified as they'd been for hours.
The very structure of his teeth and his jaw had changed, with the former growing elongated into an entourage of inhuman, monstrous incisors, three of which stuck out slightly on either side of his lips, which had grown frighteningly pallor. His jaw had elongated slightly, with red, dotted markings akin to small incisions trailing from alignment with his lips up to his ears. The same mouth that he used to charm their customers with what his family called his 'golden smile' been lost to a ritual. And in the midst of it, he'd turned into a bonafide monster.
It was too much for him. As he stared in shock at this discovery, his concerned kin stood behind him. From the moment a hand was placed on his shoulder, all he felt was that same burning sensation. This time it was throughout his body, accompanied by the same wave of rage and grief that he felt enveloped by earlier. Before the progenitor could so much as register any of it in his mind, he snapped.
When he returned to his bearings, he -- no, everything was covered in blood. Him, the ground, the destroyed structural integrity of the tent, even the tiny pieces of glass and wood that were once a mirror were soaked with it. His family was nowhere in sight, and it only filled him with confusion and distress. But strangely enough, he felt as though he was completely devoid of the negative emotions that were plaguing him prior.
He hadn't even noticed that people had shown up -- bandits, in fact. And perhaps, if they'd come any later than they did they would've probably went for him. Figured that he was easy prey while he was distracted. Or that someone else came along and finished their job for him. That's what anyone would've thought all of this blood, with no source of what it was, happened to be. They'd bore witness to something that no man would do though -- and that was consume his family with.. whatever that mouth could be called.
They weren't sure what to do, so they just departed. Some of them thought they should go for him while he seems to be complacent, but the ring leader thought otherwise. Over the next few days, the progenitor went on to search for his family and the people who killed his previous, worried about them. He tried to tread carefully about it - after all, he still wasn't aware of this ability of his. He never found them -- or at least, that's what he believes. The blackouts never stopped since that day, but the signs that they'd happened did.
In years to come, he'd eventually move on, left in the despair of suspecting they'd died by then, or abandoned him. He'd started believing that no one wanted to affiliate with him due to his.. condition. He started up work as a merchant, finding a makeshift home in a settlement. While he managed to get along with the people there, people kept their distance. Even the likes of casual flings or budding love were thwarted by his disfiguration, and his subconscious tendency to point it out.
In actuality, the latter had pushed some of them away. Other were plain disgusted. He'd go on to cover his mouth, becoming far more secluded while keeping to his business. When he wasn't focused on a livelihood, he focused on expanding his harness over... whatever it was. While his knowledge of chakra and kekkei genkai s a whole was limited, the progenitor started practicing. Slowly but surely, the distortions started to recede. By no means did it ever slowly disappear, but learning more about it over the years he remained there helped his self-confidence.
The progenitor had begun to reshape his life for who he was, and not the Kishin no Fushoku. And it showed. Business boomed for him again and eventually he'd find himself a loved one, chalking it up as hard work paying off rather than luck -- something he would've called it in the past. They'd go on to have children, whom as expected, possessed the kekkei genkai as well. He helped them harness it, and although it manifested differently for them, he still used the knowledge he had.
It wasn't long before he'd roam to the Land of Fire, taking his family and his business with him. His funds and the connections he developed there were used to seek tutoring for his children from the shinobi, to assist them in harnessing their chakra -- and more importantly, the kekkei genkai facilitating it. His youngest son would develop the first arm distorted by the Kishin no Fushoku, while his middle child - his only daughter, would develop the first leg.
Generations would go on, refining their understanding of the kekkei genkai, to of course develop the clan into what it is today. The most recent generation would be among the first to spread about the lands, finding their own purpose(s) while continuing the progenitor's heritage to current day.
