History:
Usagi was born to an unknown male rouge ninja and a naive female from a small and isolated village. The male was in hiding, the law and some other rouges catching up to him for his misdeeds and backstabbing actions. He found the small village as he was on the doorstep of death due to a battle he was in. No one in the village would take him in with the exception of the village " doctor ". The woman was really just really good with herbs, good enough to help the people of the village. In taking the ninja in she sealed her own fate as the two grew closer to her healing and taking care of him and him using her to hide and for his other means. At some point the woman got pregnant but the man had no use for her any longer and continued to flee. The woman was not bitter and took care of her child the best she could. It was, of course, unfortunate that she got sick and died very shortly after the child was born.
Now an orphan the child was raised by the village who only raised her due to the help the mother gave the village. She would be passed around frequently due to people getting sick as they took care of her and then getting better when she was gone. The village was torn, they saw this as a curse on the child but they were good people and in their hearts wanted to raise her out of a sense of duty to the mother. Of course without their healer, some did not survive being sick after caring for the child, and soon the number of people that died cause them to build her a shack far away from the village, sending food to her every now and then until one day they sent some ninja to take her away. These ninjas were not good people and from the age of four until she was nine she was used in ways one could not imagine for a child, save for her innocence, the young child was beaten, broken mentally, and used as a slave. It wouldn't be until she turned ten that she found herself escaping thanks to ninja from Kirigakure freeing her and many others.
The child along with other children became orphans and became citizens of Kirigakure. None had names and they were given some. The child who had lost everything would now go by Usagi and she was given a choice, either she would become a ninja of kirigakure or be sent away. With very little options she chose to become a ninja and in doing so she went through the academy with the rest of the orphans and soon she was able to become a genie. It took many tries as she had to go through a lot of therapy and other forms of medical treatment but eventually, she was able to graduate.
Personality:
Usagi is many things but mostly she is run by her emotions. Although she is in her prepubescent years she is still a child. Some of her more extreme life events have shaped her appropriately, causing her to be cautious of others. She acts on her instincts rather than thinking things through rationally. Her " flight or fight " seems to always be turned on even in situations that don't call for it, making her appear... Jumpy and frightened like a little puppy that's been hurt one too many times.
For as on guard as she is, if she happens to find someone she actually likes, Usagi becomes extremely clingy to that person in fear of losing them. Abandonment is a whole can of worms in the fear department for her. Once she's latch onto a person she becomes depressed when not near them and aggressive if she finds that they give anyone else but her attention.
Usagi is easily persuaded and ultimately controlled by food. Feeding her is the easiest way to get her to do what a person wants and the fastest way to get her to calm down. She's not the sharpest tool in the shed but she can pick up on the feel of a situation enough to act in a way that will cause little attention to herself. She is not a fan of people or large crowds and she is paranoid to a fault, usually thinking someone is out to get her and bring her back to the life she was raised in. Any new person she comes in contact with is already on negative terms with her in her mind, even when it makes no sense for them to be. Eventually, with enough interactions, she comes around and is a lot less afraid.

Usagi is a delicate little thing who looks like the slightest of breezes could blow her away. She is considerably shorter than those of even her young age. Her Ivory skin tone with its old scars, doe-like eyes that shine with a seemingly ever-changing green hue, and long black hair kissed by the darkest night have created such a doll-like individual that even on her worst days she cannot be called anything but " cute ".
