Name: Shira Yurei
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Village: Kirigakure
Rank: Genin
Title: Ghostsun
Clan: Yurei Clan
Bloodline: Akayurei (Red Ghost)
Element(s): N/A
Skill(s): Genjutsu, Bukijutsu, Fuinjutsu, Ninjutsu
Stats
Unique Abilities: Illusionist: Learns Genjutsu techniques for 50% off due to a natural disposition towards them. This strength is coupled with a struggle in Fuinjutsu techniques however, which is doubled.
Trademan's son: His mother makes weapons, which allows him to purchase weapons from the Kirigakure market for 50% off. However because of his mother's rivalry with another local shopkeeper, he can't purchase explosives/sealing scrolls/medical drugs/other contraptions without paying double the price!
Appearance:
Shira has medium blonde hair with brown eyes, the result of his mother's gene overriding that of the Yurei. He has a pretty young, feminine appearance due to his slim figure and soft skin. He typically has a stoic facial expression due to a rather serious demeanor, which causes people to feel a sense of unease around him. His normal attire is a white jump suit with a blue tabard hanging over it, paired with chinese-style flats.
History: Shira was born to a rather mundane Kirigakure Chuunin known as Ragna Yusei and a shopkeeper named Hana. He inherited the latter's blonde hair which makes him an "impure" Yusei in the eyes of the clan. This impure genetic makes him seen as a inferior member of the clan, though they do their best to not openly abuse him for this. Despite this Shira has always felt the clan push him aside or ignore him for the most part. His mother and father are all he has, though only the former has shown him warmth. His father is cold and strict, constantly pushing Shira to be be better than he is.
Shira has only recently graduated from the academy, and is now expected to flourish in the Naruto world.
Personality: Shira is a rather serious individual which is the result of his strict childhood, his father riding him with overwhelming expectations he never felt he could meet. He is emotionally distant to most people, as he fears showing his weakness to others. Anyone who gets inside his inner circle however will find that he's a much different person once he lowers his guard. He has a rather simple, almost child-like innocence to him with a great capacity for laughter. He is intelligent and typically tries to think things through before engaging in any sort of combat. In battle he typically holds back to try and learn an opponent's powers before bothering to try and defeat them. His flaws are a lack of sociability due to the fact that he is so serious, coupled with the awkwardness of expressing himself, and too much caution. His fighting philosophy makes him vulnerable to those who try to defeat him quickly, as he isn't used to thinking on his feet.
Roleplay Sample:
The wind blew with a chill across the misty islands of Kirigakure no Sato, the training grounds empty amidst the dark night skies. Shira had been here all night meditating waiting for his father to come. Clearly it was a test of his patience and endurance. The second that he stopped waiting was the moment that his father would come in to berate him. A battle of wills, so to speak. Shira had figured this out and thus began to continue meditating in peace and quiet, something he normally did not get at home. He was actually enjoying this annoying exercise to be honest, but he wouldn't let his father know that.
Before his meditation he had been practicing his illusions on his own, trying to get some training in before the graduation exam. Shira was likely never going to be entirely comfortable in close ranged combat, so he would have to get used to honing his techniques in ranged and tried to keep foes from ever getting close to him. He began to wonder what kind of weapons would suit his fighting style. Close Range was a no-go, but kunai and shuriken were very hit-or-miss. He didn't have a lot of strength so he'd need something that wasn't too heavy either. He wanted something that covered a long range, but also had some level of control to it.
Maybe chains?
He'd have to think on it some more.
